Broncos' Ekuban frustrated by pace of healing from torn Achilles
Posted by D.A. Louis  June 5, 2008
Rocky Mountain News Reports:
"It crosses your mind that it might be it, that you might not bounce back," Ekuban said. "It was just
frustrating because, for a while, you work and work and work and you just don't see the progress."

"It's just a hard thing to come back from to get your confidence back," said Broncos receiver Brandon
Stokley, who ruptured his right Achilles' tendon in 2006. "I think you go through that process where you
don't see the improvement that you want to see, you don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. There is a
time when you really don't know if you're going to be able to make it through it, if you're going to be able to
return to the way you used to play."
Broncos cut Travis Henry
Posted by D.A. Louis  June 2, 2008
Denver Post Reports:
The continuous saga that was Travis Henry has ended, at least as a Broncos running back.

Although he was talented enough to lead the NFL in rushing through four games last season, Henry had
trouble staying healthy on the field and avoiding trouble off it. On Monday, Broncos coach Mike Shanahan
announced he had enough. He gave Henry is outright release.

"The release speaks volumes," Shanahan said. "You've got the little things and if you don't do the little
things, obviously you can't count on somebody."

Henry had missed the first two weeks of minicamp with a strained hamstring. He was supposed to start
practicing Monday, but he did not show up. Shanahan said he did not meet with Henry when he gave him
his release.

"That's on him," Broncos' running back Andre Hall said of Henry. "He brought it on himself."
Broncos Sign Former Tampa Bay RB Pittman
Posted by Jay Miles  May 27, 2008
Yahoo Sports Reports:
The Broncos agreed to a one-year deal on Tuesday with former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Michael
Pittman, agent Drew Rosenhaus told The Associated Press.

“There’s a lot of ways Michael can help the Broncos,” Rosenhaus said. “He can play fullback, halfback, he can
catch the ball out of the backfield, return punts and return kicks. He’s a versatile back.”

Pittman, an 11th-year pro who spent his past six seasons in Tampa after four years in Arizona, rushed for 286
yards on 68 carries and caught 26 passes for 191 yards last season, when he missed six games with a high
ankle sprain.

ESPN first reported the signing.
Broncos trade for Robertson
Posted By D.A. Louis April 25, 2008
Denver Post Reports:
There is a knee that can't pass a physical and a player who can play when others can't.
Defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson may have a knee no doctor worth his job would clear. But
that hasn't stopped him from playing in every game the last two years and all but three games
in his five-year NFL career.
The Broncos decided Robertson was worth the risk. Woeful in stopping the run last season, the
Broncos hope they moved toward solving their problem Thursday when they acquired
Robertson from the New York Jets in exchange for a conditional 2009 draft pick.
