Colts’ Gonzalez set to step up in 2nd year
Posted by D.A. Louis  June 5, 2008
Indy Star Reports:
It’s a progression virtually every player must deal with, and one the Colts anticipate Gonzalez and several
others will have made successfully as they attempt to extend a couple of noteworthy streaks in 2008. They
have won five straight AFC South titles and also have the NFL’s longest active playoff streak at six seasons.

Much of that continued prosperity hinges on whether wide receiver Marvin Harrison (knees) and defensive
end Dwight Freeney (foot) can fully recover from injuries that limited their availability in 2007. The veteran-
laden roster also must produce at a high level.

In one quick move, 14 months of constant frustration gave way to sweet anticipation for Dominic Rhodes.

The veteran free agent running back agreed to a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday
worth approximately $650,000, reuniting him with the team that gave him his first NFL break, and one he
helped lead to a Super Bowl championship.
