Fasano, Ayodele headed to Miami
Posted By Jay Miles April 25, 2008
Yahoo Sports Reports:
The Dallas Cowboys traded linebacker Akin Ayodele and tight end Anthony Fasano to the Miami
Dolphins for a fourth-round draft pick, a person familiar with the deal said Friday.

The person didn’t want to be identified because the Dolphins and Cowboys hadn’t confirmed
the trade. The Dolphins have repeatedly tapped the Dallas pipeline since the arrival of former
Cowboys coach Bill Parcells in December to run Miami’s football operations.

The draft pick is No. 100 overall Saturday. The Dolphins have eight other picks and will use the
No. 1 overall choice to take tackle Jake Long, who has already signed a five-year contract
worth $57.75 million, $30 million of it guaranteed.

Details of Jones deal being ironed out
Posted By D.A. Louis April 25, 2008
MySanAntonio.com Reports:
Jones had three years left on his deal with the Titans, who agreed DallasCowboys.com
reported the Cowboys have added a year to the deal and replaced some of its guarantees
with incentive-based clauses. The Titans, meanwhile, added a clause that allows Jones, who
has been arrested six times since being drafted sixth overall in 2005, to keep the $1.25 million
performance-based bonus he received in 2005. The clause also calls for Jones to donate
$500,000 to a Tennessee charity.  Compensation also was finalized. The Cowboys will give the
Titans a fourth-round pick (No. 126 overall) in this weekend's draft. If Jones is reinstated by the
league and plays all of the games in 2008, the Cowboys also would send a sixth-round pick to
the Titans in 2009.

Pacman Jones works with Dallas Cowboys' first team
Posted D.A. Louis  June 20, 2008
Star-telegram Reports:
During Wednesday’s mini-camp, Pacman took several repetitions with the first-team defense and played in
the sub packages. His time on the field cut into the repetitions of starter Anthony Henry.

The move left Henry frustrated by the reduction in reps while Pacman took his place working alongside
Terence Newman.

"I’ve been playing in this league for eight years. I’m not blind to it," Henry was quoted as saying on the
Cowboys’ team Web site. "I knew what time it was when the transaction happened at the draft. I already
knew what time it was. It’s just a matter of when. And maybe when is now."
Terrell Owens agrees to four-year deal with Dallas Cowboys
Posted by D.A. Louis  June 3, 2008
Dallas News Reports:
According to multiple sources, the Cowboys and Owens on Monday agreed to a four-year deal worth $34
million, including $13 million guaranteed. An official announcement is expected today.

Owens, who turns 35 in December, was scheduled to receive a $3 million roster bonus today as part of the
three-year, $25 million deal he received when he joined the Cowboys in 2006. Instead of making $7 million
this season, Owens will earn roughly $13.7 million.

Owens' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, declined to comment.
Jones cleared for workouts, training camp and preseason
games
Posted by D.A. Louis  June 2, 2008
NFL Network Reports:
Commissioner Roger Goodell notified Jones on Monday that he may participate in organized team activities
with the Dallas Cowboys, including training camp and preseason games. The limited re-instatement is
effective immediately.

"This limited re-instatement is a step in the process," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement.
"Adam is aware of the things that need to be done in order to take the next step."

Jones could be in action as soon as Tuesday, the team's next organized practice. The Cowboys are
scheduled to have OTAs through Thursday, and will hold minicamp from June 17-19.
Barber, Newman Re-Signed
Posted By Jay Miles May 20, 2008
The Dallas Cowboys signed running back Marion Barber and cornerback Terence Newman
to long-term extensions Tuesday, just in time to beat a deadline that would've changed
how the money is spread over the salary cap.

It wasn't cheap, though, costing Jerry Jones roughly $95 million.

At least he knows he'll have both players through 2014.

Newman's deal is a six-year extension to the final year left on his initial contract. It's
worth more than $50 million, with a $12 million signing bonus and $22.5 million
guaranteed over the first three years.

Barber, a restricted free agent, received a $45 million, seven-year contract that includes
$16 million in guaranteed bonuses. It's worth $21 million over the first three years, all of
which puts him in the salary range of LaDainian Tomlinson, Edgerrin James and Larry
Johnson — heady stuff for a guy whose only career start came in his last game.
Dallas Cowboys' Williams meets with coaches
Posted By D.A. Louis  May 15, 2008
Dallas News Reports:
Dallas Cowboys safety Roy Williams has become a lightning rod recently, with his
comments on how he fits into coach Wade Phillips' defense, followed by linebacker Greg
Ellis' thoughts, fueling speculation that the Pro Bowler had fallen out of favor at Valley
Ranch.

The situation prompted defensive coordinator Brian Stewart and safeties coach Brett
Maxie to sit down privately with Williams. Wednesday, at the Cowboys' annual golf outing,
Stewart said he was satisfied with the meeting's results.

Stewart said he doesn't consider confidence an issue, even after Williams said on the
Michael Irvin Show "sometimes you just hope they don't throw the ball your way."
