Match not made in heaven

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Reports:
The Green Bay Packers might have at least some interest in trading for Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason
Taylor, but the curiosity isn't mutual at the moment.

“I don’t see it happening,” a source close to Taylor said Friday.

None of the sources would give out the complete list, which has roughly 12 teams on it. San Diego, New England,
Dallas, Jacksonville and Philadelphia are among the teams Taylor is interested in, but all have at least two of the
following three traits in common: They have a chance to go deep into the playoffs, are in close proximity to Florida
or California or reside in a top television market.
Cowboys: Receiver Glenn softens rhetoric
Posted D.A. Louis  June 20, 2008
MySA.com Reports:
Disgruntled Cowboys receiver Terry Glenn indicated Wednesday he could be ready to mend fences with
team owner Jerry Jones and join the team for training camp next month in Oxnard, Calif.

“I want Jerry to understand I know he has the ultimate power in everything that goes on with the Cowboys,
and I’m not trying to challenge him in any way, shape or form,” Glenn said. “He can — and will — determine
the outcome of this because it’s ultimately his decision.”
Receivers' absences cause stir as Cowboys open minicamp
Posted By D.A. Louis  June 18, 2008
Express News Reports:
The matter of receiver Terry Glenn's absence wasn't handled so gracefully, especially after he told various
media outlets he doesn't expect to be with the team much longer.
“I was told I'll be cut if I didn't sign the waiver,” Glenn told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “What I'm saying is
I'm not signing the waiver. So I guess they're going to release me as promised.

“I just want to get on with my career and be somewhere where someone wants my abilities.”

News of Glenn's icy comments caught owner Jerry Jones off guard.

“I haven't talked to him about that,” Jones said. “We'll just see what happens between now and training
camp.”
Boldin Undecided About Camp
Posted by Jay Miles  June 17, 2008
mvn.com Reports:
Ace Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin hasn’t made up his mind to attend the Arizona Cardinal’s training
camp in July, according to a story appearing on the team Web site azcardinals.com.

Boldin skipped the Cardinals’ voluntary workouts, but attended the mandatory minicamp. He became
dissatisfied with his contract after the Cards extended teammate Larry Fitzgerald’s contract in a four year
$40 million deal early this year.

Fitzgerald and Boldin are the most dangerous wide receiver one-two punch in the NFL. The pair combined
for 171 receptions for 2262 yards and 19 touchdowns last season. Boldin, however, only started 11 games
and Fitzgerald ended the year as the Cardinals’ top receiver.
Slim Chances for Tyree to Make the Team
Posted by Jay Miles June 16, 2008
This is London Reports:
The man who made the miraculous catch that led to the New York Giants winning the Super Bowl, may
soon be out of work.

David Tyree, the hero of last year's Super Bowl, is going to be hard pressed to make a roster spot with the
team this year. It was Tyree's amazing 32-yard circus catch on New York's game-winning drive that
earned him a spot in Giants' history.

However, off-season knee surgery has resulted in him not being able to take part in the club's summer
mini-camp.

With Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer certain to begin the season as the starters, and talented Steve
Smith, Sinorice Moss and Mario Manningham in a fight for snaps, the business reality of the NFL takes
president.
Jurevicius Could Miss Start of '08 Season
Posted by Jay Miles  June 16, 2008
WagerWeb.com Reports:
Joe Jurevicius, expected to be the Cleveland Browns' No. 3 receiver this year, might not be ready to start
the season, at least according to a report in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Jurevicius, who already had planned to make this his final NFL season, has had multiple procedures on his
knee in the offseason and is still rehabbing. He's not participating in minicamp, and it's not yet known what
he'll be able to do in training camp. Jurevicius underwent arthroscopic surgery in January and suffered a
staph infection soon after. He had the staph surgically removed and then underwent another more recent
procedure.
DE Ellis Unhappy With Role
Posted by Jay Miles  June 12, 2008
Star-Telegram.com Reports:
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Greg Ellis still hasn’t talked to the media since boycotting organized team
activity workouts two weeks ago over diminished practice reps.

Ellis returned to work last week after talking with coach Wade Phillips. While his presence at practice this
week could be construed as his attempt to do what’s best for the team, it doesn’t mean Ellis is happy with
his situation.

While walking off the field following practice Wednesday, Ellis declined an interview request by simply
saying, "You know the deal."

In other words, Ellis remains distrustful of the Cowboys' motives regarding his diminished practice reps.

The Cowboys say they are trying to take a longer look at backup Anthony Spencer and prolong Ellis’ career
by reducing his workload.
Texans interested in Colvin
Posted By D.A. Louis June 5, 2008
Houston Chronicle Reports:
Former New England Patriots linebacker Rosevelt Colvin visited Reliant Stadium, taking a physical in the
morning and then speaking with general manager Rick Smith and some of the coaches.

"We know he can rush the passer," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. "He brings a lot of maturity to your
team from a standpoint that he's been on some great football teams and won a lot of games in this league,
a very smart player who has played in a lot of places. I think he would bring some veteran leadership and
accountability to our team."

When reached by phone Wednesday evening, Colvin declined to comment.
Chad Johnson ponders Eagles - and Cowboys
Posted by D.A. Louis  June 5, 2008
The Philadelphia Inquirer Reports:
The good news for Eagles fans is that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson is at least thinking
about wearing green.

The bad news is he's also thinking about life with a star on the side of his helmet.

"If I can get out of Cincinnati, the sky's the limit," Johnson told ESPN the Magazine. "What could I do in a
place like Philadelphia or Dallas? It would be ridiculous. It's gonna be like a whole new me, like Ocho Cinco
2.0."

Johnson, who for some reason is serving as a guest editor for the magazine, said in the same story that he
plans to play for the Bengals this season.

"Am I coming back?" he asked rhetorically. "Of course I am. I told my coaches I'm going to California to act,
but the truth is I may come back to the Bengals as early as June. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid."
Giants to see Jeremy Shockey soon
Posted by D.A. Louis  June 5, 2008
New York Daily News Reports:
In the six weeks since, various members of the Giants' organization have left open the possibility that
Shockey could be traded by saying that he is only the team's starting tight end "right now."

However, many teammates and coaches and a few members of the Giants' front office have contacted the
27-year-old Shockey since the draft to let him know he is wanted and needed. Despite what he considers to
be a limited role in the Giants' passing attack, Shockey had 57 catches for 619 yards and three touchdowns
in 14 games before breaking his leg and missing the Giants' entire championship run.
Cowboys give Glenn an ultimatum
Posted by D.A. Louis  June 5, 2008
Star-Telegram Reports:
But an NFL source said the Cowboys have told Glenn to either sign the $500,000 injury waiver for his
surgically-repaired right knee or prepare to play elsewhere. And that time is growing short for Glenn’s
decision.

Glenn is due $1.74 million this season. By signing an injury waiver, if he injures his right knee at any time,
that $1.74 million would be nullified and he would be paid a pro-rated $500,000. If he was to suffer any
other injury other than to his right knee, he would be paid the full $1.7 million.
Former Bears and Pats LB Colvin Still Looking for Work
Posted by D.A. Louis  May 28, 2008
Dayton Daily News Reports:
Former Bears and Patriots linebacker Rosevelt Colvin did an interview earlier today on Sirus NFL Radio, and
stated that despite his release from the Pats this offseason, he’s already gotten some calls from teams in
regards to his services. Two teams that Colvin pointed out as being in contact with are the Cleveland
Browns and the New York Jets, two teams that could use some help at the LB spot.

Colvin pointed out his history with Browns coach Romeo Crennel, who was the Pats D-coordinator during
part of his tenure there. He was a fourth-round pick of the Bears back in 1999. Colvin will land a job
somewhere, and you can bet the Browns and Jets will keep their options open to seeing where he fits in
there plans.
Taylor Done in Miami
Posted by Jay Miles  May 27, 2008
The feud between Jason Taylor and Bill Parcells intensified Wednesday, making it likely the six-time Pro
Bowl defensive end has played his last game for the Miami Dolphins.

Coach Tony Sparano said Taylor isn’t expected to take part in any team activities through training camp.
The revelation came less than 24 hours after Taylor finished second to Kristi Yamaguchi in the finals of
“Dancing With the Stars” in Los Angeles.

For weeks the new Dolphins regime, led by Parcells, has fumed while Taylor spent his offseason focused
on his budding Hollywood career rather than back in South Florida working out with teammates.

Following a voluntary team practice Wednesday—with only Taylor missing— Sparano signaled the Dolphins
are ready to move on without their top defender.

“I’m glad we know this. We’ve gotten the information, and that’s important,” Sparano said. “I know that
Jason is not going to be in any minicamps, and I know that right now Jason is not going to be at training
camp.
