Every year, there is always that one player that each team, fans, and media are waiting to "break out".  PGF's Jay Miles examines a
player for each team he believes that everyone is waiting on in our 2008 Target Players.
Mark Clayton, WR Ravens
With progressing in his first two years in
the league (44 rec., 471 yds., 2TDs in
2005, 67 rec., 939 yds, 5 TDs in 2006),
Clayton went backwards in '07 (48 rec.,
531 yds., 0 TDs).  Part of can blamed on
the Ravens inconsistent passing game, but
most of it can be blamed on his inability to
get open.  Clayton is a big part of the
Ravens passing game and must return to
'06 form.
Chris Perry, RB Bengals
Perry has had a injury plagued career, but
has shown flashes (4.6 YPC in 2005) the
limited time he was on the field.  With the
backfield getting crowded (Rudi Johnson,
DeDe Dorsey, Kenny Irons, and Kenny
Watson) its now or never for Perry.
Eric Wright, CB Browns
With Leigh Bodden traded to Detroit,
Wright has become the #1 corner in their
secondary.  Wright, in his rookie season,
has shown that he is a good tackler, but
must step up this year because he is facing
the opposing teams #1 receiver.
Heath Miller, TE Steelers
Miller has shown himself as a legitimate
red zone threat and big play tight end, but
has been too inconsistent.   Miller has all
the intangibles to become an elite tight
end, but has to stop fading late (Has only
5 touchdowns Weeks 10-17 in three
years) in the year.
